Changing lives

The Moore Barlow Silicon Cup Regatta 2020/21 has nominated three life-changing charities to raise money for: Dreams Come True, the Andrew Simpson Foundation, and the Greig City Academy sailing programme. So far, we’ve raised just over £1 million for worthy causes. Every boat makes a difference, every entry changes lives.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to host the sailing event this year because of the
restrictions due to Covid-19. The next regatta will now be held on 27th to 28th May, 2021.

I’m sure many of you will miss the fun of the racing and gala fundraising evening, but perhaps more importantly, this poses a challenge to the charities we support. As such, we are pleased to say that we will be holding a silent auction online.

The silent auction will be held from Monday 5 th October to Sunday 11th October, and there will be many fantastic lots to bid for including luxury holidays, boat trips, gourmet food and drink options, signed celebrity items, and smaller gifts. There will be something for all tastes and budgets. There will also be the option to make a donation, which will be split equally between the three organisations.

Dreams Come True

Dreams Come True

Each year 10,000 children in the UK are diagnosed with life threatening and long-term illnesses. With your help we can put smiles on the faces of many more sick children.

Greig City Academy sailing programme

Britain’s only inner-city school sail training programme. Since 2014, it has broken new ground in inspiring deprived students, mostly from BAME backgrounds, to transform their lives through sailing at all levels, from dinghies to ocean racing.

Andrew Simpson Foundation

Our fundamental ethos is to facilitate a wider participation in sailing, and to optimise the benefits that the sport can deliver to young people and ultimately to society at large.
