Each yacht is supplied with a qualified Skipper and experienced first mate.  Participants can get involved in racing the yacht as much, or little as they like.

Absolutely, each year crews are entered with first time sailors.  The event is a fun sailing experience and instructions will be provided.

All safety equipment and wet weather clothing is provided, no special equipment is needed.

If you are keen for the full yacht experience, up to six people can sleep aboard the boat (with your own sleeping bag). Alternatively, we can help you to book accommodation in Cowes in a range of properties, including hotels, bed and breakfast and crew houses.
In addition to two great days of sailing, the event includes an awesome party, evening meal and charity auction hosted in Royal Ocean Racing Club in Cowes.
Entering the event means you will support three great charities: The Genie’s Wish, the Andrew Simpson Foundation, and the Greig City Academy sailing programme. More details on each of these charities available here.

To Port Solent by Road
Sunsail at Port Solent is located close to the base of the A3(M) London to Portsmouth road and the M27 South Coast motorway.  From London to Portsmouth via the A3(M) (passing Kingston upon Thames, Guildford, Haslemere and Petersfield) the journey by road to Port Solent takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. Travelling via the M3/M27 (passing Basingstoke, Winchester, Eastleigh, Southampton and Fareham) the journey takes approximately 1 hour 25 minutes.

Port Solent from the west:
Motorway access is via the M27 at junction 12. Branch left, signposted A27 Paulsgrove, then merge onto the A27. Follow the A27 into Southampton Road. Turn left onto Port Way, signposted Port Solent.

Port Solent from the east:
At Hilsea, branch left off the A27. Then at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Western Road – A27 – signposted Fareham. Follow the A27 into Southampton Road past Tesco. Immediately under the motorway bridge filter left at the lights into Portway, signposted Port Solent. From Portsmouth: Take the M275 and follow the signs.

Once inside Port Solent follow the signs for “Sunsail Customer Parking” this is a large gravel car park near the Port House. You may drop off bags down by the Sunsail reception but you must not park here.

To Port Solent by Rail
Portsmouth and Southsea is the nearest main line station with regular connections to Chichester, Brighton, London and Southampton. The nearest local station is Portchester and the station at Havant offers connections to London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour services. Check the National Rail website.

To Port Solent by Ferry
Port Solent enjoys excellent links to the continent, the Channel Islands and to the Isle of Wight via Portsmouth ferry and hovercraft services.

To Port Solent by Air
Port Solent is within easy reach of Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. Southampton Airport is also just 18 miles away (24 minutes by road) and offers domestic and international flights.

We will meet the yachts and crew at The Port House Café, Port Solent, Portsmouth, PO6 4TH. There is ample FREE parking just follow the signs for Sunsail Customer Parking.
